B&F Paper – Curious Matter

The Curious Matter paper range is a ultra-pigmented matt paper made with potato waste with an intriguingly indescribable touch. The range has a unique story of taking a mundane and unvalued substance; waste starch from potatoes; and using modern man-made processes to transform it into avant-garde creative paper. Supply was tasked with creating a concept, imagery and design execution for the New Zealand launch event in the form of an art exhibition.

Informed by the ranges avant-garde and transformative nature we reimagined the its creation by transmuting raw matter (the humble potato) from the mundane to the beautiful through an exploration into alchemy and aesthetics. We looked at what strange and beautiful objects could be created when combining potatoes with modern man-made substances in unexpected ways.
